Hi, I'm Andi. Born and raised in a small town in rural NY State, then college in Santa Cruz, CA, I moved to Seattle in 1990, and now live in Mountlake Terrace. My parents weren't churchgoers, but everyone else in my hometown was. As an adolescent, my divorced mom got into a relationship with my now step-dad who is an atheist. I began to learn more about being non-theist. For the next couple of decades I waffled between labeling myself an atheist and agnostic, ultimately crystalizing as atheist. Growing up in such an insular community that was so wrapped up in faith was formative. After decades of studying and considering, and seeing the way non-theists are denigrated, dismissed, and ignored, I became passionate about ensuring those who are guided by faith understand that those of us who do not live a faith-based life are just as kind and compassionate, have just as much to offer, and have just as solid moral compasses and ethics as those whose dogma is defined by religion.
