Update on charity giftwrapping and food donations

February 16th, 2010

Thank you to all who helped wrap gifts at area bookstores this holiday season: Jerry, Bob, Kathy, Scott, Kyle, Megan, Mike, Roslyn, Rhi, Jami, Julien, Case, Shane, Ian, Sam, Beth, Becky, and Tanya!   A special thanks goes to Megan for her efforts in coordinating this activity.  :)

Seattle Atheists will be donating over $800 to The Childrens Hospital Fund thanks to the efforts of gift wrappers and the generosity of all the bookstore patrons who donated!  Also this month Seattle Atheists collected 57 lb. of food for Northwest Harvest.  Thank you, and remember to bring non-perishable goods to SA meetings and events!

Holiday Giftwrapping

November 4th, 2009

For the past few years, SA has volunteered at Seattle-area bookstores during the holiday season to wrap gifts. 100% of donations will be donated to Children’s Hospital. It’s a great way to let people know that atheists care about the holiday season as well, and that we do charitable work.

A big thank you to Seattle Atheists member Megan S. for coordinating this year’s efforts! E-mail Megan to volunteer at the downtown Seattle Borders Books & Music. Any Seattle Atheists member can volunteer, and we can even teach you how to wrap gifts! We need two volunteers per shift. As shifts fill up, I’ll put first names in parentheses as reminders.

Shifts still needing to be filled are in bold:

  • Fri., Nov. 27, 3 to 7 p.m. (Bob and Jerry)
  • Sat., Dec. 12, 3 to 7 p.m. (Scott N. and Kyle)
