Sometimes it takes hard work to make sure our rights are protected. That's where the Seattle Atheists' legal committee comes in. We have established funding to make a difference on a local, state, and national level.

For our first battle we went right to the top, supporting Michael Newdow in his case against the government. SA joined Newdow in objecting to the phrase 'under God' in the Pledge of Allegiance.

With the help of our members and other organizations across the country, we secured funding to file an amicus brief to the U.S. Supreme Court supporting our position.
