As many of you are aware, the Seattle Atheists advertising campaign will begin April 1 on the King County Metro buses and will run for about one month. The brightly colored signs will appear on the inside of the buses and will feature quotes from Susan B. Anthony, Thomas Jefferson, and Albert Einstein.
Our president, Paul Case, was interviewed about the bus campaign by KOMO News, and you can get the story here: http://www.komonews.com/news/local/41618287.html

Dear Sirs, I have been reading your bus advertisements with interest, particularly the latest ones quoting Albert Einstein and Thomas Jefferson. I was sufficiently intriged that I investigated each man’s religious beliefs and background. I assumed from the tone of the advertisements that each was either an athiest or agnostic. To my surpise I discoved that Einstien was a deeply religious man, stating, “God does not play dice” while debating Neils Bohr about the quantum theory of physics. Jefferson, while not a conventional Christian was a devout Diest and beliver in God and stated so in his own writings. This lead me to a review of other famous scientist and the founders of our country. I discovered that our greatest scientist from before the Renisance to modern times (Galileo, Newton, Fibionacci, Maxwell, Fermi, etc.) and the fouinders of our country (Washington, Hamilton, etc.) were all overwhelmingly practising Christians and deeply spiritual men.
I have therefore concluded that your advertisements are dissembling at best and dishonest at worst.
Shame on you.
I’m a religious person who falls somewhere on the spectrum on non-theism. I very much resent the idea that one must be a religious person in order to live an ethical life. What hogwash.
I appreciated the Atheist Bus Ad Campaign in the UK, and I’m very much enjoying the bus ad campaign in Seattle. Making people think is always a good thing.
Thanks so much for the service these bus ads provide, and keep up the good work.
Yes, Einstein was deeply religious because he used “God” in a famous sentence where he was summarizing one of his complex theories. I mean, I say “God” every time my dog pees on the carpet, and that assures me that I am as deeply religious as Einstein. Also, Galileo? The guy the church killed for proposing the earth went around the sun? Yeah, I’m sure he was cool with that. I mean, praise Jesus he was killed before that kind of quackery cought on.
Bus advertising?? Very sad and extremely pathetic. I will pray (to God) for you all!!
